Created in Finland, the Moves app passively collects your activities and location throughout the day. You simply turn on your GPS feature of your phone and keep your phone with you. The app tracks your walk to the subway, your afternoon walk in a city park and your run later that evening. The app gives you distance, calories burned, steps and time engaged with each activity like running or walking. Since you have to have your GPS on all day it can be a drain on your battery but, because of the GPS, there is little you have to do to have your string of activity data and events presented to you in this straightforward app.
Compare this tracker to others in the Running App Chart.
When you are at a location for a long time (e.g. work, the park you are having a walk in) the app automatically names the location via your GPS.
