Endomondo began in 2008 and by 2012 it had gained 10 million users. When you begin your workout, you select your activity such as running, cycling or any other activity that is distance-based. The app tracks your distance, time, speed and calories. Your friends can go online and write a motivational message to you which, a few seconds later, is read to you while you’re working out. You can also go against your friend’s best time, create or use predefined interval training. Endomondo is compatible with many heart rate monitors and other tracking devices like Garmin and Polar.
