Boston-based Lose It! was founded in 2008 and quickly became one the most downloaded apps in the iTunes’ Health and Wellness section. Lose It! has a basic free app and a premium version for $39.99 a year. On the homepage, there is a quick view of your calorie budget, calories from the food you have eaten, calories you have burned from exercising, your net calories and how many calories you have left for the day. When you first start with Lose It! you set the goal of how much weight loss you want and the app helps you figure out the right plan. It does this by determining how many calories you can consume each day and how long it will take to get to your desired weight. Lose It! keeps you motivated in unique ways, such as company-sponsored weight loss challenges with prizes. The Lose It! website allows you to do everything you can on the app and more. Additionally, you can connect essentially all major activity tracking devices and wireless scales to this calorie tracking app.
